He is the founder and president of Coastal Habitat Education & Environmental Restoration, better known as CHEER. On Saturday CHEER, its partners and other groups met at Moss Landing for its first Ocean Cleanup event.

CHEER will install 24 no dumping signs at high risk dumping areas in the Pajaro River watershed, which includes South Santa Clara, San Benito, Santa Cruz and Monterey County. Installation begins November 1, 2015.
